Kirkby Lonsdale
IMG_7942.JPGIMG_7945.JPGIMG_7947.JPG
This was a bit of a gamble, in terms of the weather forecast. It looked like some heavy rain was on its way, but that Kirkby Lonsdale would be relatively unscathed. After lunch, whilst wandering along the river, towards John Ruskin's view (currently closed), through the churchyard, and back into town . . . we had a shower lasting about 5 minutes, but that was it, so I think our gamble paid of.

Northern Lights?!
IMG_7957.JPGIMG_7962.JPGIMG_7964.JPGIMG_7977.JPG
Today I started a beginner's yoga class. Later on, M**** mentioned about the Northern Lights and all these amazing pictures she's recently seen online. So I figured . . . go for a quick drive, somewhere very dark with good views north. I did this (we are fortunate to being about a ten minute drive from such a place), and took loads of photographs with varying amount of exposure but, lacking a tripod, I had to rest the camera on the roof of the car and hope for the best. Fortunately, the camera can be controlled using an app, with the camera effectively working as a wifi hotspot. It was an exceptionally clear night, I had a decent spot with unobstructed views north but still . . . no northern lights that I could discern.

More failed attempts to capture the 'Northern Lights'
IMG_7999.JPGIMG_8001.JPGIMG_8002.JPG
Again, another exceptionally clear night but still . . . nothing. Captured a lot of stars and a rogue aeroplane, but that was about it. Ah well.
