Magnolia
So that bit of weathered wood that Pepe is sitting on . . . that was bought during the first lock-down, thinking we could do a bit of gardening, with a raised bed thing. It never happened. Instead, it sat in a corner of the garden, a convenient place for slugs, beetles and weeds to gather. So yeah . . . I'm not sure when . . . during April?! . . . but I cleaned it all up, removed all the bugs and dirt, put it out to dry in the sun and then applied many, many coats of exterior paint, in a kind of dark green colour to fit in with other items of garden furniture. It's now been moved to the patio, filled in with a load of pebbles, and potted plants and a water feature on top. A whole lot easier to manage than some kind of . . . raised bed.

Poulton's Park
| I think R****** was wearing the 'adopt strange expression for the photograph' cap when these first few pictures were taken. Not entirely sure how said cap managed to escape A******'s clutches, but hey . . . these things happen. We're at Poulton's Park, also home to the famous Peppa Pig World.

| I think we're somewhere near Rusland here. So where were the boys? Hmmmm . . . otherwise engaged. Not too sure. With grandparents? Sleepovers? Or just didn't feel like a walk in the Lakes? Don't know. I mean, I'm writing this on 10th October, so it's hardly surprising if I can't quite remember. Anyway, when were the storms? February? Yes, they were in February. I remember that. We were on holiday in Somerset and decided to come home slightly early, as we were in a part of the country directly on the path of said storm. Looks like when it reached this part of the Lakes, a fair few trees were downed. The path was tricky, but not impossible. We figured if this path was a designated right-of-way (it's not: it's provided by the Forestry Commission) and a little more well known, it probably would have been cleared a long time ago. But hey-ho, not to worry. Found this gorgeous lake thingy anyway.
