Another strange item of spam

I'm guessing that due to ever-improving spam filters, the spammers have to try harder to get our attention. I found this item in my spam folder recently:

Hi

Are Faster Payments subject to a fee?

And that was it. There was no link, an unremarkable subject ("Monday Process") . . . nothing else. Perhaps the writer envisaged that my curiosity would be peaked so much that I would have to reply. I mean, are they subject to a fee?! And how fast is faster?! Are slower payments subject to less of a fee? And what payments are we talking about here?! So many questions . . .

The lamb
IMG20240317132851.jpgIMG20240317132859.jpgSo the story here is the following: during a recent walk along Trough Road (Over Wyresdale), M**** and I had stumbled upon a lamb in distress, trapped between two wire fences. In order to reach the lamb, someone would have had to navigate a very muddy part of the field, as can be seen in these photos. We left the lamb, vaguely thinking, "Hmmmmm, if only we could somehow alert the land owner." As luck would have it, not long after that, a car pulled into one of the long farm roads off Trough Road, and we were able to get the attention of the driver. M**** explained the situation to the lady driver and, to cut a long story short, she said she would tell the land owner, who she knew. Our job done, we carried on our way. In the days following, M**** chose to avoid that walk, for fear of encoutering a dead lamb being picked apart by crows. So R****** and I did the walk instead, which is today. There was no evidence of the lamb, which could of course mean many things but, crucially, M**** had nothing to worry about (at least in terms of the fate of the lamb).

I think this would have worked better if the tarn had appeared slap-bang in the middle of the picture but . . . ah well, better than nothing. I like how the tarn looks much more blue than the sky, somehow. This is along the path to Nicky Nook, approaching from the side of Wyresdale Park.
