Northern Lights, part three!!!
| I know, exactly, I mean . . . what are the chances? The north-west of England, where cloud cover is, erm, common (not to mention the light pollution) . . . and here we are, the aurora borealis twice in one year. What on earth?! I mean, who needs to go beyond the Arctic circle when we have it here?! Anyone thinking of the star gate sequence towards the end of 2001 (the film), or is it just me?! Just me . . . okay, moving on.

Lowther / Pooley Bridge / Ullswater
Yeah, so we started of from Lowther Castle, parking our car there (yeah, I know what you're thinking, but we bought cake and coffee from the cafe later on; the car park was quiet anyway), did a bit of walk around, got back to the car and were like, "We never got to see Pooley Bridge (or Ullswater) last time we were here. You see, from the little village of Helton (south of Askham), you can wander over the fells / moors, heading west and eventually (although I can't imagine it would take that long, an hour maybe) you would reach Pooley Bridge. We got the point where we could see Ullswater / Pooley Bridge in the distance and then headed back. There seemed to be a lot more people around this time, perhaps on account of the weather - no rain this time.
