• Comment: Ah yes, many times I am asked this very question. Why, oh why, oh why? I usually respond by informing the questionner that Google returns 33000 hits when you do a search for 'London Subterraneans', and the first hit, Fortean Times (link provided above), has all the information really needed. Things happen underground, things happen overground, things also happen under water. La di da, my subscription for the library has run out.
