Torcross, day 6
| | Well, today went slightly . . . erm . . . off-plan. We knew, from the weather forecast, that rain was planned, so we thought, "Well, surely the Eden Project would be a good idea. I mean, they got those biome things which are usually way too hot anyway, so we'll be sheltered from the rain and pleasantly warm." However, about a mile from the Eden Project (maybe more than a mile, sat-nav wasn't too sure and neither were we) the queueing began. The traffic was barely moving so we did a u-turn and headed for the Plymouth Aquarium instead (it probably has an official name like the "National Marine Aquarium" or something). M**** waited in the café whilst me and the boys checked out various fishy things. It was okay, I guess. A lot better than the Lakeside one anyway. We only had about 70 minutes there, so we went around a couple of times and double-backed on ourselves, looking for the rays and hammer-head sharks, that R****** had expressed a preference for. After that, we had a not-so-great experience at Pizza Express. The food was good, but it took almost 30 minutes before anyone served us after showing us to our table. Service remained pretty damn poor throughout. I wonder if our seating position didn't help - kind of hidden away in a corner. After that fact (?!), we discovered that approximately 11,000 people had turned up at the Eden Project today, slightly above the usual 5,000 that turn up on a normal day.
