So here we are, somewhere on the outskirts of Manchester, utilising our wedding present from Simon and Becky. Yes, it's a National Trust place (Quarry Bank Mill) and fairly interesting. It came across as a kind of posh mill, if that's possible. A mill built away from all the dirt and grime of inner city Manchester, complete with landscaped gardens, orchards, vegetable plots and various greenery. The family responsible (I forget who now) having also established mills in Lancaster and Galgate . . . wait a sec . . . that's just lazy . . . I invoke the power of Google . . . the Greg family! Of course! Wiki just mentions the mill at Caton. Hmmm, okay. Anyway, in that last picture, can you spot the mouse? I suspect that mouse has been fed many a time by many a visitor; it was very tame.

A******'s Birthday Party

For A******'s 'birthday party' (as oppose to birthday itself), we hired out Scotforth St. Paul's parish hall and also hired out this Mad Science woman, as the entertainment. Then they all ate some food. I think this was all over the course of late afternoon, early evening. We had games (e.g. pass the parcel) arranged but, as it turned out, 20120715_134244.jpg20120715_134242.jpg20120715_134240.jpg there just wasn't time. It all seemed to work out well, the children (and some adults) all enthusiastically making pots of 'gloop' (or whatever) under the instructions of this Mad Science woman (I forget her name now . . . Kathryn?!). So this is very confusing . . . as these images of R******'s so-called 'graduation' (from nursery) are also time-stamped from today. Surely can't have happened?!

Looks like a little too much bubble bath as well. Ah well, the boys love it. M**** took all these pictures. Grouting looks like it could do with a clean and possibly touching up slightly.

So we're in Grizedale, and the nice lady at the visitor centre gave A****** a quiz to complete. Nothing like a quiz to get the boys inadvertently going for a long walk in the countryside. Oh, and we found a tiny frog, which was nice. I held it in my hand for a bit, showing the boys that it was perfectly safe and then I think R****** had a go. Or maybe it was A******. Erm . . . so yeah . . . hello?
