Grizedale Reservoir and thereabouts
Don't think we've ever seen this particular reservoir looking so depleted. In the foreground of that first picture you can make out the wall, which marks the point where the water usually comes to. Ah well. The walk was kind of cut short as, erm, 'someone' (not mentioning any names) wasn't really in the mood.

Testing the new camera
The only problem is that we seem to have this insatiable demand for more and more pixels in our digital photographs. More pixels equals more storage space. Hmmmmmmmmm. |
Birthday celebrations continued (siblings, cousins, etc.)

Devon, Day 2

Oh no. I've just noticed a problem with the new camera. Well, maybe it's not the camera but something is definitely wrong here. I could have sworn I set the correct date / time on this camera, but I've just noticed that all these pictures are out by two days, so I'm guessing I didn't set it correctly after all. Grrrrr. Anyway, not to worry. We arrived on the Sunday anyway. It should have been Saturday but due to some rather boring circumstances that I won't bore you with, we delayed setting off until early Sunday morning. I think we arrived at about 15:30 after an almost boringly routine and uneventful journey. No jams, no accidents, no freakish weather . . . just a long drive from Lancaster to . . . well, somewhere in Devon. A few miles north of Kingsbridge.

Devon, Day 7
I think we had a bit of a lazy day today. A lot of lounging around, filling in diaries and then, later on, just exploring the grounds. The owners of our holiday house (who lived nearby) were very keen for us to explore the grounds, several acres worth; that was where we found the frog (actually frogs), at the bottom of the hill, close to the river that formed a natural boundary marking the edge of the owners' land. I had to take a couple of pictures of the road leading to the holiday house as this was the kind of thing we faced every day. Fortunately, there was very little traffic.
