Radishes are growing
These little beauties were planted this time last week, when M**** was away at Max's christening. I can't think what else happened today, as this is the only photographic record I have.

Somewhere around Silverdale
|
This was one of M****'s experimental walks . . . Same kind of area where we often find ourselves but . . . yeah, just different. Blah. I think we bumped into Helen and Stu along our travels. What were those weird sweets Helen had? They were like Fishermen's Friends, that kind of thing. Some kind of pastille-like thing. Anyway, Leighton Moss, Silverdale, woods, trees, stuff . . .

Manchester, science museum
Today was a little odd. The previous night M**** had been out on her 'Hen do'. When M**** goes out late, I can't actually sleep until M**** gets back. Kinda weird, but that's just how it goes. I guess there's a part of me thinking, "If I fall asleep now, I'm only gotta get woken up a bit later when M**** comes stomping and stamping into the house, screeching, 'Hello? You still up?' at the top of her voice," so I might as well stay awake. Long story short, I finally got to sleep at about 03:30 this morning, on account of our curtains having some weird spazzy fit, where they decided to separate themselves (rail and all) from the wall. Great.
Once they were fixed (by now M**** was fast asleep), I popped downstairs to turn all the lights off, lock up, that kind of thing, came back upstairs, probably thinking, "Ah, at last. Peace. Time for bed," and R****** was just there in our bedroom, sat by our bed, like this was a normal thing at 03:20 on a Saturday morning. Grrrrrrrrr! So I put R****** back to bed and finally got to sleep. And guess who had to be up at 7am this morning to give the boys their breakfast? So yeah . . . despite all this, I eventually relented to giving M**** and Mouse a lift to Manchester to do some shopping. I had the boys to look after, so we battled through the Manchester Great Run crowds to get to the Science Museum. Crowds of people, and I'm trying to guide a 3 and 6 year old through it all, jittery as hell, not entirely sure where I was going or sometimes who I was or why I was here. But hey . . . it all worked out. We had a fun time at the Science Museum.

View from Parkwood
After work, I first popped home for I needed a lift to the car hire place (Hertz) on Caton Road. I picked up my car, went home, got packed and then headed for Windermere. Woo hoo! The beginning of my stag do!! Stopped off at the Booths at Windermere, did a load of food shopping (only buying four bottles of beer; slight miscalculation) and then started leaving the supermarket with a trolley load of stuff when who should I bump into, but Sam, of course! Sam had taken his bike on the train from Manchester and was gonna cycle the remaining distance. I drove the remaining five miles and only had about five minutes before Sam joined me at the holiday house. These two pictures were taken from our balcony, as Sam and I sat outside, drinking our beers. Once the Morritt had arrived (some time between 21:00 and 21:30) we headed into Ambleside centre and indulged ourselves in a curry. I wish I could state which curry house it was (probably the only curry house), but it was damn fine and the service was spot-on. After that . . . did we go to the Golden Rule? Not entirely sure . . . but certainly the Golden Rule was frequented a fair times this weekend.
