Yeah, so this was fun, if slightly tricky (occasionally) to manage two boys with next to zero experience of ice skating. Well, that said . . . I'm not sure if M**** would have been much use on the rink, by her own admission. So . . . I mostly took turns with the boys, whilst the other would hang back with M****. Right at the end, I managed a couple of circuits on my own. Shame we can't have more ice rinks around the country . . . I guess it's partly supply/demand based but also the logistics and cost of keeping that much ice at that temperature. Hmmmmm.
These pictures are of our baby grand piano which we've dragged around from Lancaster to Leeds and then back to Lancaster again, and now we're hoping for it to be dragged off our hands by someone else. Trouble is, how to find that 'someone else'. We're kinda hoping the person we're looking for just happens to search eBay during the period when we put it up for auction. Hmmmmm. Yeah, right.
The thermal X-rays are primarily from swept-up interstellar material
This picture was taken around the time that M**** was trying to record R****** singing 'Away in a Manger' in Spanish, which he had been learning at school. I would also post the video, but it needs rotating first, a process which is made frustrating simple on Facebook, of course. Anyway . . . clearly the boys were being fully co-operative with M****'s requests to pose and sing and what-not.
. . . and these, to the left, are pictures of R****** in his fancy dress outfit for the nativity. He was one of the 'children of the world' and we seem to have gone for Scotland. But where's the Irn Bru, you're probably all thinking.
I dunno why I've called this entry Warton Crag . . . it must be because we went by that way on the way back home. As may be obvious from the pictures, we went over to Jenny Brown's point today. Well, kind of . . . M**** wanted to turn back after reaching this massive puddle. Me and the boy were all kitted out in wellies, so we weren't bothered but . . . yeah, someone didn't have appropriate footwear. Anyway, the weather kind of dramatically changed on the way back, so we pulled in to a lay-by somewhere around Warton Crag. A huge chunk of the sky kind of suddenly acquired this incredible orange colour . . . and then there was this huge double rainbow thing, which I didn't really capture. So yeah, that was pretty cool.
CHRIST! PIANO FOR SALE! I've tried to spread the word far and high (?!) but I think it's a very narrow audience that buys mechanical, non-electric pianos these days. Of course, I might be wrong . . .
