Whoa! Must be Autumn!
PA114285.JPG Check out these bad boys. They've been gradually dropping out of our apple tree in the front garden, probably more so today on account of the wind. I had to run outside after dinner, after I caught A****** just chucking one about in the drive way. Yes, it may seem like something you can just kick around the tarmac (and we've done this many times before with rotten crabapples) but it's also food, food grown in our own front garden. So yeah . . . perhaps if you could just gather up any apples you see lying around on the soil, A******, before the slugs get to them, that would be great. They taste fantastic, though, these apples. I guess you couldn't really get an apple any fresher though.

So we're at Grizedale again. We managed to find the bendy, snakey, wall thing, as built by, erm, Andy Goldsworthy some years ago now. Tried to get some pictures, but it's hard to capture the full effect here. You can see it on aerial images, which is partly how we managed to find the thing in the first place, using my phone.

Somewhere in or near Silverdale again. So that's me trying (trying!) to get a decent picture of A****** and R****** together. Dunno if it worked or not. Often one will be smiling and the other gurning.

Cycling in Grizedale
20121027_115756.jpgSo yeah . . . hello? M**** and R****** have gone to Cheltenham, to visit Pop and Cathy. A****** and I have lunch at The Swan . . . this is the hot chocolate that A****** had to tackle for desserts.
PA274372.JPGPA274373.JPGPA274374.JPGPA274375.JPGPA274376.JPGAfter lunch . . . off for a cycle at Grizedale. I brought my own bike and we hired one for A******. As you can see, we were blessed with glorious (if a little cold) weather. A****** was kind of enjoying it . . . at first . . . and even though we did the easiest route, there were still hills to deal with and A****** wasn't too happy about those. Maybe it's just practice . . . I dunno. Well, I loved it anyway and I guess A****** liked the flat bits. Crazy, really . . . he had been going on and on and on about cycling in Grizedale for . . . like, ages. Perhaps reality doesn't always live up to expectations.

Hallowe'en
20121031_211310.jpg20121031_211319.jpgWe possibly went around the neighbourhood, accompanying A****** and R****** and maybe some cousins (?!), doing the old trick-or-treat thing and spotted this weirdness along the way. Some dude had decided to project an image of a moving eye onto his bedroom blind, as you do. Quite original, it had to be said.
