Sunday 13th Feb 2005
(01:11, this morning) Our car buying not yet over, we headed back to Bradford when everyone was up and ready. I was hungover, and required a shower, strong coffee and a fried egg sandwich (sandwiched between two slices of Marmite toast) before I could do anything. This time we travelled along the M621, the M62 and then the M606 . . . or something like that. It only took about fifteen minutes that way. We first went back to the white 1.7 litre turbo diesel thing. We asked the salesman if we could test drive it but were told he was waiting for someone to turn up with the keys and stuff. Fair enough. So we wandered around Matalan for a while. I got back before everyone else, and the car had its exit cleared and the engine was running. I got in the driver's seat and everyone else piled in.
(to the right there, that's M**** at 01:11) I thought the car was fun to drive, but I guess most cars are. We parked up somewhere, turned the engine off, waited . . . and then tried to start it again. Hmmmmm. It wouldn't start. So, we started to get worried, as we were about two miles from the garage (well, it may have been only a mile . . . it was hard to tell). So I kept trying . . . and trying . . . eventually, it started. We took the car back, I handed back the keys and got the frig out of there. To cut a long and very, very dull story short, we went back to CarNation and, after a little test-drive, handed over our money for the green Astra.

- Comment: Uh? What the frig? Well, if you will read these things half through writing 'em, whaddaya expect? I usually spell-check the version on the web-site itself (rather than within my text editor), as it's usually easier to spot spelling mistakes that way. I was well aware of the mistakes before your comment appeared.

- Comment: Took your time to fix the "but I guess most cars on" bit, though didn't it? You only noticed it 'cos I pointed it out. Also 'driver's seat' requires an apostrophe.
