Crazy, charging cows

The reference to charging cows is real, albeit cow (singular) rather than cows. During our walk across the fields near Sizergh there was a large group of heffers and their calves. They were obstructing our path through a gate so I ran towards them, stamping my feet, which worked a treat. They scattered. So there we are, crossing the style-thingy, A****** and R****** in front and me making my way over when I heard Simon going, "Whoa there, whoa there." I turned around and Simon was waving his arms around, facing off this massive heffer who changed her mind at the last minute. Apparently, she had been 'running' (do cows run?) towards us, presumably seeing us as a threat to her calves. There were no cows / calves between us and the charging heffer, so I'm not sure how we were a threat, but hey . . . Bit weird, especially as I thought that kind of thing only happened when dogs are involved, but yeah . . .
